Ads Online following the IBA guidelines
Searching the web for different sites finding ads posting on them takes some time and patience. Once you find these ads you have to compare them to IAB guidelines and make sure that they are within those guidelines or there could be a fine to that company. The IAB is the Interactive Advertising Bureau that develop and provide legal support to those affected by advertisement. I use Pandora a lot, both on my phone and on my computer. The ads that pop up on them different, on my phone there are a lot of downloadable apps that pop up for ads and on the computer it is mainly sights to purchase various items. Both fall with in the guidelines of the IAB as on the computer the ads are vertical and are withing the dimensions the IAB has on vertical ads. For the phone it is subload as the ad initiates its own music without me interacting with it. While going to my Yahoo account a few different times in the past few days the ads have all been initial load where they load with the page. Most of these ads are targeted towards the current events in the world such as tax season and Valentines Day. The ads do not take up more space than allotted by the IAB and also include an option to close the ad. As you scroll down Yahoo there are many different video ads that are on the edge of the page but once again they are small and do not initiate sound on their own, most of these ads are gzip which means that they are a compressed file and supported by all modern browsers. When I go to Yahoo on my phone there were no ads as there was not enough supported space for these ads to be placed. As I continued my journey to find ads on web pages I ran into a few Rich Media, which is an interactive ad, when I was on Citationmachine.com. In order to create a citation you must either pay a monthly fee or watch an interactive ad for use of the site for free for 48hrs. There were a few different ads found on my phone that were expansion ads where when I clicked on them they took over the center of my screen so that I could read and see the ad better and if I clicked again it would take me to that ads web page. The phone sites that had ads on them seemed to be more expansion ads and these ads all fell within the guidelines of the IAB. I am sure everyone at one point or another has looked up a video on Youtube and when looking up videos the more views they get I believe its around a million they start to receive money for each view after that when they reach that level ads are placed on their videos to show before the actual video. Many of these ads allow you to skip within five seconds there are a few at 15 seconds and rarely 30 second ads are there. With these time limits on the ads they meet the guidelines of the IAB. The internet advertising is becoming a huge thing for many large companies as they are able to reach an abundant amount of people in a short amount of time and by spending significantly less money by doing this.
